Project Hail Mary just broke my brain and healed my soul at the same time
To everyone who hasn’t seen it yet — spoiler-free zone, but I can’t control the emotions.
When Ryan Gosling wakes up as Ryland Grace on a spaceship with no memory, two dead crew members, and an impossible mission… I thought it was just going to be another “The Martian” style science-problem-solving movie.
I was wrong. It’s so much more.
This movie is actually about friendship. The bond that forms between a human and a rocky, spider-looking alien named Rocky the Eridian đ is something I’ll never forget. Two completely different species, different languages, different bodies — but the same goal: save their home planets. Watching them work together hit me right in the chest.
Phil Lord & Chris Miller nailed the direction. The perfect mix of tension, humor, hard science, and most importantly — hope. In 2026 we really needed a movie that says “humans aren’t alone, and science can save us.”
Rocky’s design? đĨ
Grace’s one-liners? đĨđĨ
That first real communication scene? I’m still crying.
If you’ve read the book, you know how hard this adaptation must have been. But they made it work in their own beautiful way.
TL;DR:
If you haven’t seen it yet — go to the theater. Preferably IMAX.
And when you’re done, come back here and cry with us while posting fanart.
We are all in this hype together.
